We the bumblebees.

(Daniel)- After listening to waaaaaay too much Floyd, i reflect on the difference between songwriting then and now.  Songwriting now is so fucking boring. The "popular" way to write a song is cut, copy, paste, cut, copy, paste, cut, copy, paste, repackage under a different name, rinse and repeat until it stops working...but it hasn't.
I mean, honestly, this whole cut and paste, bridge here, bridge there bullshit is just making a mess of things. People keep buying this shit expecting it to surprise them? Oh, no, that's right...it's not about the surprise anymore, it's about familiarity. Tap my foot here....and here......and here......and here.....nod my head to the 4/4 thump of an old heart at around such and such beats per limit and here we have it! We're gonna make some GOLD RECORDS! We may even reach platinum if it's predictable enough!!

Quick! We need a mercury injection for this repetitious pulse, if for no other reason than just to make it bling!
That's what "we" want isn't it? An androgynous art creep with platinum teeth and an American dream tattooed on their neck just screaming for their whole fucking graduating class to know that THEY MADE IT!

Is that why we buy it?
Are we really a society so secretly obsessed with kindly letting ourselves down that we litter our minds with easy bleach and lyrical schemes that lead us to think we're less attractive than the T.V. screen?

Sometimes i feel like a bumblebee buzzing around a pomegranate stuck in the throat of a pop God. Sometimes i feel like he doesn't even know he's choking.
