(Daniel)- After listening to waaaaaay too much Floyd, i reflect on the difference between songwriting then and now. Songwriting now is so fucking boring. The "popular" way to write a song is cut, copy, paste, cut, copy, paste, cut, copy, paste, repackage under a different name, rinse and repeat until it stops working...but it hasn't.
I mean, honestly, this whole cut and paste, bridge here, bridge there bullshit is just making a mess of things. People keep buying this shit expecting it to surprise them? Oh, no, that's right...it's not about the surprise anymore, it's about familiarity. Tap my foot here....and here......and here......and here.....nod my head to the 4/4 thump of an old heart at around such and such beats per limit and here we have it! We're gonna make some GOLD RECORDS! We may even reach platinum if it's predictable enough!!
Quick! We need a mercury injection for this repetitious pulse, if for no other reason than just to make it bling!
That's what "we" want isn't it? An androgynous art creep with platinum teeth and an American dream tattooed on their neck just screaming for their whole fucking graduating class to know that THEY MADE IT!
Is that why we buy it?
Are we really a society so secretly obsessed with kindly letting ourselves down that we litter our minds with easy bleach and lyrical schemes that lead us to think we're less attractive than the T.V. screen?
Sometimes i feel like a bumblebee buzzing around a pomegranate stuck in the throat of a pop God. Sometimes i feel like he doesn't even know he's choking.

Hugs and thanks.
To all you beautiful people that came out last night, thank you, you mean the world to us as people and as a band. We love you all very, very much.
When we showed up last night, it was still a lingering decision on what time our set was going to be which made us nervous about our faithful friends and fans. We thought no one would show or, if they did, that we would be closing by the time they arrived and, lo and behold, right when we got onstage, we saw all your beautiful, smiling faces in the crowd, leering from behind the lights and one phrase came to mind:
"without you, we wouldn't be here, we wouldn't be doing this".
It's true, our friends, family and fans (sometimes all in one), mean everything to us. YOU make this music happen and YOU make doing this more than worth it, no matter how stressful it can become.
As i, Daniel, laid in bed last night, all i could do was smile knowing that this band started as an accumulation of fans of each others music finally coming together to create a bigger, more full sound for all of us. In that fact, i would like to say that just because you don't play an instrument with us onstage, you are still a piece of the band that, without you all, would crumble on its own.
Thank you and thank you and thank you again! There are no words left to describe our love and appreciation for YOUR love and support of us.

Lyrics for Our Beloved City
Our Beloved City
A regal, roused razor ripping rouge from disregard with
pardoned patrons piping over paper pins and yarn waving
guns and guarding gold of gauntlets, gone, and grievance, far, they whistle 'woots' so wildly as they whence from words to stars.
The cumbersome climbed calmly, crowning crowds with crumbled cars
as the atheists admonish all the absence of their art.
The meek hold mighty motions making mortar out of marts while
dystrophy developes in the muscle of what's ours.
We're off to a good start.
What once held heavy horns has Haliburton hooves with
eyes, entered not, it eradicates our goods.
The Goliath growled and groaned a gargled gasp from where it stood
trampling they that tote their trust like thistle thickets and burnt wood.
A mantra moaned from mourning mice makes moments out of Monsters
and markets turn to massives made of orchestrated mongers.
There's carbon on the catwalk clogging class and causing cancer while the world
and what it was
steeps in questions unanswered.
It's a babel built on Bordeaux brick with bible belt believers born again to break and bend the dirge of bound backed bequers.
Supporting stifled sticklers stuck on stones soaked in their sin and reveling in rifles made of re bar and religion.
Just fit in goddammit.
Now turmeric temples topple onto trampled, thoughtless graves
while the sun itself succeeds in a sarcastic charade.
With our eyes a riddled blue and our skin a tepid gray we have marched,
mocked and meddled.and missed the meaning of today.
hold strong new dawn it won't be long before the calm. So let it rain
wash our ruins clean.
May the stains solidify our means.
What remains will do nothing but feed.
One in the same, it gorges to breath.
Though collapse seems immanent I'll spend to ease the pain.
A trembling god with broken bones lies posed and on display.
While boards block up the posters of his herum of mistakes
and Hera scolds her strongest pawn,
Give up, just let it rain,
it'll all be okay.-Lyrics by Dp Music Maere.

All in a Row.
This is Daniel, keyboardist of Maere.
It's been a long and heavy winter, now that we've officially made it to Spring, i must say....fuck.
We've been working long and hard on new material and getting the record together since january now and, slowly but surely, the fruits are beginning to bud.
We have some upcoming live shows where we will be reconfiguring the set around a little bit here and there for a new experience. We hope you all love the new sounds!
As we near the summer, we all feel a little stressed, a little tired and a little overworked in the default world. With those feelings we have been able to write some material that has successfully uplifted and eased that stress little by little and i hope it shares it's effects onto you, the fans, as well.
Make sure to join us at one of our upcoming shows:
April 23rd at the Guyaki Mate Bar featuring an excellent lineup which is as follows: Atheorum, our sister band The Helen Kellers and Commissure! The show is a benefit for Doctors without Borders, so come with healing intention.
May 25th at the Hotel Utah with friends/family Samvega and the motherfuckin Shimmies, both headlining and releasing their latest debut album!!!
