Amen

Well it looks as though the boys of Mære have returned from what turned out to be one hellish headache of a hiatus.  Winter.  No matter where you look or what you yodel it always creeps on you.  This is always for the better of course, but if you're not careful to consistently cultivate that awareness, the frustrations can become tantamount to the confusion of not knowing the difference.  

Amen!

Winter has almost passed through leaving some beautiful snow-capped mountains and a never failing picturesque valley floor; poppies, poppies, poppies!  And Mære is preparing to come out of hibernation to collect the best, channel what we can and eat the rest.  A lot has changed during this time with a loss of two members, but hopes are soaring with JC Knox joining the team as we continue composure with the amazing Isabele Sjahsam and folks of Art Face productions for a ballet in the works.  

However now is a time more than ever that we need your help!  We are almost finished with our video for 'Amen' directed by our good friends of the phenomenal Filament productions, but fell behind along with everything else during the course of the end of last year.  Everything is back on track, but we are asking for donations to finally finish the video and package it all up with our debut album.  Anything and Everything helps.  Please watch the teaser, and learn more by visiting our kickstarter profile.

Of all things new.

A lot has happened since we've last posted here. We have begun, and will soon finish, shooting for our first music video to our title track 'Amen' off our forthcoming album. I can say, collectively, that we are shocked and awed by not only the quality, but the dedication to this project that so many have shown through donations, physical help, costume designing, hair and makeup, and providing the most beautiful, serene locations!

There are many thanks to be given and many gifts and rewards to be presented. To name a few, thank you to Jeremy Sharp for providing the shot locations. The property is tucked in the most beautiful landscape you can find in northern California. Upper Bodega county has gifted us graciously with it's moss coated, moist land just littered with ancient trees and plant life all nurtured by an ever-present micro climate.

Thank you to Rhonda and Jessica MacDavitt for the costume creation and hair and makeup magic. Like Midas touch, they took what ideas we had and sculpted them, ever so rabidly into even more than we could have ever dreamed or hoped for. Thank you for your clarity of vision, your purity of selves and your ability to improvise!

Thank you to the entire Filament Features crew!!!!! Obviously, this would not have been possible without you. It was an honor to work for you before and with you this time around. Your incredible energy and wonderful personalities made for the perfect blend of work and play! If not for you all, we would have completely imploded. Really. We are here to help you anytime you need us, never fear to ask. We have so much love for each and every one of you!!!!

Dj Turner...no words can express our thanks nor our support for you in anything and everything you do! You are a wonderful, extremely talented and beyond that, inspired individual that has nowhere to go but up and up and up!!! It was, and will always be, an honor in the highest to work/play with you. Anything you need. Ever.

Eliza Kelley, holy shit! Eliza has contributed in a way no one else could. .she fed us some of the finest food we could have ever hoped for. Her generous donations fueled us through some coooooold weather and late nights. (We stopped shooting one night at 6:30 a.m.). Thank you ENDLESSLY for the delicious FINE treats and meals!!! She has artwork headed her way around Christmas time. :)

To all our friends that came to our aid through this all, what would we ever be without you? Nothing. Thank you so much to Zach McKlusky for transporting bandmates, food, buckets, baskets and many other obtuse items! Thank you to Melissa and Mercedes Baker for saving our fucking lives by helped with makeup, setup, costume and even acting!!!! These girls are the real deal, the true artists for life, no exceptions!!!!!!

And our final thank you's go to the ENTIRE cast of the video! Shannon Lucio, Isabelle, Melinda, Anthony, Kevin, Hugh, Pedro, Franz, Zach and Melissa Baker!!!!!! You were all the most beautiful, perfect embodiment of all things dreamed for in this production and we hope to continually work with all of you!!!! More love than could possibly be conveyed is being hurled at you through this screen!!!!!!!!! (can you feel it?)

We are performing a beautiful venue in Santa Rosa with Little Lost Boys and Low Five at the Arlene Francis Theatre!!!! Show begins at 7 sharp!!! Be there!!!!

Slowly Emerging.

  Here, in the heat of a California summer, I (Daniel) realize the incredible work that is about to ensue us all.

     We are currently in the brainstorming and fund-raising process of our debut music video with many thanks to Filament Productions. A close friend and experienced film maker, Dj Turner will be pulling out all the stops for our track Amen, written and produced by yours truly, Maere.
     Once we have raised sufficient funds, we will be shooting in multiple, beautiful locations all around the Napa Valley and the extremely exclusive Colusa county. We cannot express our endless thanks to the Bakers for providing their secluded, awe inspiring property.
     Hold tight everyone, all this silence is paying off.
       
We have much to share with you by late fall.

           I hope to see everyone at our show with Samvega and the Shimmies on August 4th at the Bottom of the Hill, voted best rock and roll club in SF!

Of lulls and lagging.

 We are about to be asking, once more, from the fans. We are in desperate need of funds for a mode of transportation for the band. The band has been on halt until we can figure something out. We all apologize for the lull and we hope to have a plan by this coming weekend. We will keep you all updated and informed.
